Each workflow uses native connectors where they exist and custom code steps where they don't. Every code step is documented, tested, and written to be readable by your team or any future developer. We work within Pipedream's 12.5 minute execution limit and design around it for longer running processes.

Workflows go live against production data. We monitor for 30 days, handle edge cases that surface, and deliver complete documentation including inline code comments. Your team or a future developer can pick up where we left off. You own the code and the Pipedream account.

Do I need developers on my team to use Pipedream?
We build everything. The visual interface is accessible to non technical users for monitoring and basic edits. Modifying code steps takes some technical comfort, but we document every line so a future developer (or us on retainer) can maintain it without guessing.
How does Pipedream pricing work?
Pipedream uses a credit based model. The free tier gives you 3 active workflows and 100 credits per day. Paid plans start at US$29 per month with higher limits. Unlike Zapier, Pipedream doesn't charge per step inside a workflow, which makes complex multi step automations significantly cheaper to run.
What languages does Pipedream support?
Node.js (JavaScript and TypeScript) and Python. Both are widely supported and easy to hire for if you ever want in house development later. We default to Node.js unless your team has a Python preference.
Is Pipedream suitable for production workloads?
Pipedream processes billions of events per month and was recently acquired by Workday. It includes built in error handling, retry logic, and event queuing. There's a 12.5 minute execution limit per workflow run, so for longer processes we design multi step chains. For business critical workflows, we add monitoring and alerting as standard.
Can Pipedream replace my current Zapier setup?
In most cases, especially if your Zaps are hitting limits or costing too much. We audit your existing workflows and rebuild them in Pipedream with code steps where needed. Simple Zaps that work fine may not benefit from the switch, and we'll tell you which ones to leave alone.
What about the new AI Agent Builder in Pipedream?
Pipedream recently added an AI Agent Builder feature. It's useful for certain workflows, but it's still early. We'll recommend it where it genuinely fits and build with conventional logic where it doesn't. We're not going to bolt AI onto a workflow that works better without it.
What if Pipedream isn't the right fit for my business?
We'll tell you. We work across multiple platforms including Zapier, Make, n8n, and Power Automate. If your needs are better served by something else, we recommend that instead. The audit identifies the right tool, not just the one on this page.
